Pedro is an empathetic couples and family therapist who is passionate about how sexuality, gender, culture, relationships, and systems influence one another. Pedro practices from a systems theory perspective. When working with Pedro, you will examine how systemic trauma and traumatic experiences impact how you reveal and express yourself to the world. He recognizes that individuals with marginalized social identities experience unique health disparities and strives to recognize and respect everyone’s needs as they seek care. Pedro balances his clinical approach with empathy and humor to make you feel comfortable as you explore new perspectives in your life.

Pedro is particularly passionate about working with the QTBIPOC community working through gender and identity issues. He is kink, BDSM, and ethical non-monogamy aware. Pedro provides a safe environment to help clients learn and grow while promoting empowerment. He helps his clients explore the inner self to spot recurring patterns of behavior, process old traumas, pay attention to the body’s signals of people’s needs for healing, and develop fresh approaches to change. 

Pedro also uses a blend of narrative therapy and existentialism. He will help you check in, be with, talk about, and act on your personal stories. With an existential approach, Pedro will help you to make meaning of your life. Both of these approaches support the development of new skills and living a more creatively and courageously. 

Pedro earned a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from Northcentral University in California and holds a certificate in Sex Therapy from Adler University. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Human Sexuality. Pedro is committed to diversity, multicultural competence, social advocacy, service, and community engagement.
