Keturah Platt is a Therapist who is passionate about meeting clients where they are. She believes in the importance of building rapport in the therapeutic alliance and views each client as the expert of their own story. Her calm and empathetic approach allows her to fully attend to each client’s unique concerns and goals. She has experience providing individual, family, and group therapy services to children, adolescents, and adults.
Keturah has provided mental health care to individuals experiencing stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, low self-esteem, life transitions, and grief and loss. She works collaboratively with her clients to identify underlying thought patterns and ways of coping that may be negatively impacting their health and well-being. Keturah guides clients in self-reflection to facilitate self-awareness and personal growth, introduces mindfulness and relaxation techniques, and has an overall client-centered and strengths-based therapeutic approach. She also incorporates art, writing, and music as tools in the therapeutic process for clients who are interested and open to it.
Keturah earned her Bachelor’s in Psychology and minored in Counseling and Social Change and Child and Family Development. She then earned her Master’s in Clinical-Community Psychology and is currently progressing through her doctoral studies at DePaul University.
In addition to her therapeutic skills, Keturah is kind, caring, and family-oriented.
