Crystal is a compassionate, empathic, creative, and trauma-informed therapist who is committed to seeing clients as the experts of their stories. Crystal’s approach is grounded in person-centered and humanistic modalities, as she firmly believes that individuals should have control over their treatments. Crystal also tailors her therapeutic approaches to the needs of each client, utilizing skills from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Psychodynamic Therapy, and more.

Crystal has a broad background of working with youth and families from Chicago’s underserved communities and she ensures to approach her work through a trauma-informed lens. Crystal sees individual teens and adults, and specializes in helping clients work through anxiety, depression, processing trauma, adjusting to life’s changes, racial identity, frustration tolerance, and more.

Crystal is a proud Mexican-American therapist and is fluently bilingual in English and Spanish. Crystal is also a proud Chicagoan, being born and raised in  the city, and is excited to continue serving her community members. Crystal obtained her Master of Arts degree in Social Work (Clinical Concentration) from the University of Chicago. She also received graduate certificates in Trauma-Informed Care and has experience in school social work and working with Chicago Public Schools.

In addition to her professional skills, Crystal is also an avid dog-lover, and spends her free time with her two terrier mixes and volunteering at animal shelters.
