Anna approaches the therapeutic relationship with compassion, affirmation, and support. She believes in identifying and uplifting the unique strengths of each client, creating an individualized counseling experience while holistically taking into account the systems, communities, and identities that impact each person. Anna works in collaboration with clients to establish a sense of openness and safety while accompanying clients on their journey towards empowerment, wholeness, and healing.
Anna utilizes an integrated approach, drawing from person-centered, solution-focused, feminist-relational, and narrative frameworks. Her areas of focus include grief, trauma, anxiety, depression, relational/interpersonal issues, acceptance, self-esteem, and life/college/career transition. Anna addresses trauma, struggles, and diagnoses not as labels, but as pieces of a larger puzzle that prioritizes her clients’ perspectives, dignity, autonomy, and humanity. She is LGBTQ+ affirming and gives great consideration and respect to each client’s cultural identity, race, religion, and socioeconomic status.
Anna received her master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and her bachelor’s degree in Clinical Psychological Science with a minor in Citizenship and Social Justice from Western Kentucky University. She has worked professionally with high school and college students at risk for suicide, survivors of gun violence, and children, adolescents, and young adults in residential settings. Anna has also worked extensively in the realms of suicide prevention, career and wellness coaching, disability advocacy, and community engagement.
