Patrice Cross is a strength-based, caring, and non-judgmental counselor who enjoys building relationships with people of different backgrounds in order to help them improve their lives. She believes in identifying the positive qualities her clients have and utilizing those qualities to help clients progress and heal. Patrice believes each client is unique and tailors her sessions to each individual. She promotes self-acceptance to support a person to grow to their fullest potential.
Patrice primarily employs CBT (Cognitive Behavior Therapy) as her theoretical orientation to help clients decrease negative thought patterns that promote stress, anxiety, worry, anger, depression, etc. Clients learn skills to improve self-esteem and increase positive thinking patterns, happiness, stress tolerance, calmness, and overall quality of life. She does this while also creating a safe and warm environment where clients feels free to share their experiences and concerns without judgment.
Patrice graduated with a Master’s in Community Counseling from Argosy University in 2014. Since then, she has received specialized training in treating substance abuse, domestic violence, and career indecision. Patrice also has expertise in working with people struggling with anxiety, anger, depression, trauma, addictions, sexual assault/abuse, ADHD, and emotional eating.
In addition to Patrice's skills and experience, she is also compassionate, relaxed, patient, and kind.
