Juan is a warm, compassionate, culturally humble, bilingual (Spanish & English), and trauma-informed therapist. Juan focuses on developing a caring and trusting relationship with his clients, as he knows that this type of relationship is necessary to create change. He approaches therapy with a spirit of affirmation, authenticity, and collaboration. Juan has the experience of working with and always welcomes folks of all backgrounds and experiences. He sees teenagers and adults for individual therapy as well as partners for couples therapy.

Juan employs various evidence-based clinical approaches. His theoretical lenses are guided by Cognitive Behavioral, Acceptance Commitment, and Relational-Cultural therapies. He uses these theoretical lenses to understand, navigate, and learn new ways of responding to his clients' experiences. He is adept in supporting individuals with Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, issues pertaining to Gender & Sexuality, Life Transitions/Stressors, Relational Stress, Racial Identity, and more. 

Juan graduated from the University of Chicago with a Master of Arts degree in Social Work (Clinical Concentration). He also received graduate certificates in Trauma-Informed Care and Gender and Sexuality Studies at the University of Chicago. Juan has research experience and co-authored publications examining psychological and sociological constructs.
